PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor which can effectively suppress the invasion of water droplets from a gas inlet or a gas outlet to a casing with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: The gas sensor 1 for a vehicle comprises a sensor unit 9, and a casing 19 for containing the unit 9 of two sections. The casing 19 is integrally provided with a passage forming wall 4 opposite to the partial section of the casing peripheral side face 2p at the outside of the face 2p surrounding the outer peripheral edge of a sensor board 3. A side gas passage 2 for communicating with the outer space of the casing is formed between the wall 4 and the face 2p. The peripheral side face of the casing 19 is opened at the casing gas inlet 13 with the section for forming the passage 2, and the casing gas outlet 14 for discharging the gas to be sensed from a containing space 17 is opened in the section except the inlet 13.
