PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable displacement fluid compressor whose discharge capacity is variable, in which lowering of efficiency is prevented, excellent durability is implemented, and torque fluctuations are not susceptible to occurrence. SOLUTION: The variable displacement fluid compressor comprises: a rotor 6 whose outer circumference is polygon and which moves around a rotating shaft 1; a rotation preventive means 402, 501, which prevent rotations of the rotor 6 while allowing change in revolution radius rk of the rotor 6; a cylinder 10a housing the rotor 6 therein, and is constituted of at least three cylinder liners 10 so that its inner circumference is a polygon similar to the shape of the rotor 6, and whose inner diameter can be changed by mutually moving the cylinder liners 10; a plurality of vanes 11 disposed between the rotor 6 and the cylinder 10a; inner diameter variable means 4, 10E, 401 that can change the inner diameter of the cylinder 10a; and revolution radius variable means 3, 101, 4, 402, 501 that can change the revolution radius rk of the rotor 6 depending on the change in inner diameter of the cylinder 10a.
