POLYLACTATE-BASED FIBER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polylactate-based fibers which have biodegradability, can also be supplied for clothing uses, and have good flexibility, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: Polylactate-based fibers are obtained by melt-spinning a poly-L- lactate having an average mol.wt. of 50,000 to 100,000 and an optical purity of 95.0 to 99.5% and then taking off and drawing the spun fibers at a speed of≥2,500 m/min, and have a single fineness of 0.5 to 1.5 dtex, a total fiber fineness of 30 to 600 dtex, and a fiber flexural rigidity satisfying an expression of the formula (1): B≤8.0×10-6×TD (1) [B is the fiber flexural rigidity (g/cm2/ yarn); TD is the fiber total fineness (dtex)].
