PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the wiring structure of a recording head and an external driving circuit without causing any increase in the size of the recording head. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording head comprises head units (1, 20) where a resiliently deformable cover member sealing a pressure generating chamber communicating with a nozzle opening is arranged with pressure generating means (5, 5') corresponding to the pressure generating chamber and an ink drop is ejected from the nozzle opening, a substrate (40) being secured to the cover member side of the head unit at a specified interval from the pressure generating means (5, 5'), and a means (30) mounted on the substrate (40) and generating a signal for driving the pressure generating means (5, 5').
