PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a desulfurizing apparatus for effectively supplying a hydrocarbon gas into a molten metal with the use of the gas-blowing device having a comparatively simple structure, and to provide a method for desulfurizing the molten metal with the use of the apparatus. SOLUTION: This rotary stirring apparatus used for desulfurization of the molten metal or the like, comprises a rotary joint arranged in a position of an intermediate shaft of the rotary stirring apparatus, and an impeller having the shaft with a double-pipe structure, through an outer tube of which the gas is sent to a gas outlet arranged in a lower part of the impeller immersed in the molten metal and is injected into the molten metal therefrom.
