A cyclone-type vacuum cleaner comprises a cyclone body 10, a dirt collecting receptacle 20 disposed at the lower part of the cyclone body 10 and an ultraviolet light source 500 disposed in the cleaner 200 for disinfecting the air inside the dirt collecting receptacle 20. The dirt collecting receptacle 20 has an inwardly depressed lamp positioning groove 50 for positioning an ultraviolet light source 500 that is disposed on the vacuum cleaner body 200. A protruding flow path 40 facing away from the cleaner body 200 is preferably formed on one side of the cyclone body 10 and the dirt-collecting receptacle 20, for smoothly collecting the large particles of dirt separated by the centrifugal force of the cyclone stream. The protruding flow path 40 may be formed from first and second protruding portions 40a, 40b which are respectively formed in the lower part of the cyclone body 10 and the upper part of the dirt-collecting receptacle 20. At least a pair of grip portions (41, fig 6) may be formed on the second protruding portion 40b to enable the user to easily remove the dirt-collecting receptacle 20 from the cleaner body 200.
