<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner which satisfactorily suppresses the propagation of bacteria floating in the air which are taken into the indoor machine of the air conditioner, on a drain pan over a long period, and prevents the clogging of a drain pipe. <P>SOLUTION: A metallic material 7 consisting of a metal having an ionization tendency larger than a fin 2a is arranged in a passage for dew condensation water extending from the fin 2a of a heat exchanger 2 to the drain pan 5, the metallic material 7 is electrically conducted to the heat exchanger 2, and a chemical conversion coating layer 8 is provided on the surface of the metal material 7. The bacteria which become negatively charged are successively collected by cataphoresis to the metallic material 7 side which has a low potential by release of plus metal ions by the difference in ionization tendency between the fin 2a of the heat exchanger 2 and the metallic material 7, the free activity of the bacteria is consequently suppressed, and the bacteria then become extinct. The amount eluted as metal cation of the metallic material 7 is controlled by the chemical conversion coating layer 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
