PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus constituted so that a person in a wheel chair and a child can easily close a platen cover and a document cover means for an automatic document feeder in an open state. SOLUTION: As for the image forming apparatus having the document cover means which is rotated with a support shaft as a center so as to open/close the document platen glass and to cover the document placed on the document platen glass when the cover means is closed, the document cover means is provided with a 1st handle for rotating the original cover means and a 2nd handle positioned lower than the 1st handle when the document platen glass is opened by rotating the original cover means to the utmost.
