PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spherical band-shaped seal body applicable to a wide range of atmospheric temperature covering from the ordinary temperature to over 500°C, having an outer surface excellent in the holding performance and durability, and as a result, without deteriorating the sliding characteristic or generating abnormal noise not only at the initial time but also after the long-time use. SOLUTION: The spherical band-shaped seal body 30 has a through hole at the center, a spherical band-shaped base body 33, and an outer layer 34. The spherical band-shaped base body 33 is specified by a cylinder inner face 28, a partly convex spherical face 29, and annular end faces 31 and 32 on the larger diameter side and on the smaller diameter side of the partly convex spherical face 29.
