PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device capable of mechanically sorting the sheets of paper delivered onto its sheet delivery tray. SOLUTION: The printing device includes a device 30 which is installed on the delivery tray 40 for sorting the sheets of paper and is equipped with a rack 31 arranged for sorting the sheets in such a way as capable of advancing and retreating, a pinion 32 to mesh with the rack 31, a drive device 33 to rotate the pinion 32 in the regular and reverse directions, and a guide member 34 for guiding the rack 31 in its movement in the longitudinal direction, and is enclosed with a casing 35. the drive device 33 is controlled by an MPU 11 as a control means and is actuated each time a printing request signal is inputted to the MPU 11 to advance and retreat the rack 31 so that the rack in the protruded condition intruding into the sheet delivery region is returned to the protruded condition via the retreated condition retracting into the retreat region.
