The ski (2) has a body (4) with an integrated mounting (10) for a boot binding (12,14) to be fitted directly to it and clamped. The width of the mounting is 50-95% of the narrowest width of the ski body. The mounting has two parallel cut-back grooves (24), cut into the ski body, with a plastics insert of a heat setting or thermoplastic material which can incorporate reinforcement fibers and/or metal with a plastics cladding.
