PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for loading a solid ink stick. SOLUTION: A printer 10 has an ink loader 16 and key plates 18A-18D are arranged on a chute divided into a plurality of feed channels 25A-25D in the printer 10. Each key plate 18A-18D corresponds to a specific channel 25 and has a keyed insertion opening or a receiving part 24 having a shape corresponding to the outside shape of a specific ink stick.
