<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent operation feeling having a moderation feeling by effectively operating the resilient force of a return spring provided in combination with the operating lever of an operating mechanism as the return force of the operating lever, in a mechanical type disc brake. <P>SOLUTION: A cam shaft 23 is disposed in a direction in which the cam shaft crosses the central axis of a cylinder hole 10. An operating lever 25 is fixed at an outer end 23a of the cam shaft 23 protruded from an operating part 2a and a wire cable 29 for traction is coupled to the operation lever 25A coil-form return spring 28 is mounted on an outer end 23a of the cam shaft 23. One end part 28c and the other end part 28c continued to a coil part 28a are respectively protruded in a direction extending orthogonally to a central axis CL of the cam shaft 23. One end part 28b is attached in an engaged state to a stopper pin 30 as an orthogonal relation with a central shaft CL is held. The other end part 28c attached in an engaged state to the wall on one side of a tip 25b of a actuating lever 25 as an orthogonal relation with a central axis CL is held.
