<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking space detecting device using radar. <P>SOLUTION: Since the traffic density increases and, at the same time, the driver of automobile is required to more concentrate its nerve to a complicated driving state, the driver is difficult to find an appropriate parking space in street traffic. Therefore, it becomes more important to provide the driver with a system that can automatically find an appropriate parking space. The system effectively uses a beam-type sensor system mounted on an automobile so as to illuminate an area in front of the automobile. Since the sensor system can detect a space that can become a parking space in an early stage by processing echo signals, the driver of the automobile can check the parking space with respect to the compatibility and, when the driver discriminates that the space is appropriate, the driver can comfortably and safely brake the automobile until the automobile reaches the parking space. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
