METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING HIGH-DENSITY FIBER ARRAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a high-density fiber array. SOLUTION: A 1st optical fiber ribbon which has exposed optical fibers and clad materials at both ends is left on a fixed seat having a curved hollow groove and exposed optical fiber parts is positioned above the curved hollow groove; and the clad materials at both the ends are positioned at ridged parts at both sides and exposed optical fibers of a 2nd optical fiber ribbon are inserted between the exposed optical fibers of the 1st optical fiber ribbon and then slid along the curved hollow groove. Both the ends of the 1st optical fiber and both the ends of the 2nd optical fiber ribbon are bonded and fixed and high compound optical fiber ribbon is taken out; and optical fiber exposed parts of the compound optical fiber ribbon are aligned with grooves of corresponding bases and left, and coated with an adhesive to fix and mold a cover by heating or by a light projection system.
