PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing a silver halide photographic sensitive material less liable to cause stain even when the volume of a washing tank is small and washing water is not replenished and causing no unevenness in drying. SOLUTION: In the method for processing a silver halide photographic sensitive material, a silver halide photographic sensitive material having at least one hydrophilic colloidal layer on a support and containing a compound represented by formula (1) in the at least one hydrophilic colloidal layer is processed with 0.5 to 5 l washing water without replenishing the washing water.
