PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document processor and a document processing method for easily correcting inclination of a document or the like. SOLUTION: The inclined state of a document or the like on a transport path is optically detected, and driving motors A, B (431, 433) are independently controlled according to the information on the inclination showing that the document is inclined to the right or to the left, thereby individually regulating the rotating speeds of two transport belts such as upper transport belts 305, 307.
