The winder has a drum, and the extracted hose etc. is automatically rolled-up by spring force after a catch has been released. A direction-dependent brake unit is arranged so that the applied brake force is larger during winding up of the hose than during unrolling. The brake acts between the drum and a fixed drum holder (4), which also carries a free-running device (8) with one fixed part, and one turnable part connected to the brake. The brake is a friction brake with adjustable brake force. It has a brake disc (9) and spring-loaded brake shoes (12,13).
