Portable music stand light

A battery powered light which attaches to a music stand for illuminating sheet music comprising of a support rod (8) mounted onto a music stand, a separate light (1) which attaches to the support rod which when located on the support is capable of illuminating sheet music on the stand to enable easy viewing of the music. The unit is light weight and does not reduce the stability of the stand. The support rod folds with the stand and holds the battery power pack 9 while the light is easily attached or removed from the support and also folds for easy transport and storage. The light source may be light emitting diodes mounted via foam pads (3, figure 3) to absorb vibrations.
