<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge whether or not the rewritten contents of a ROM are correct by confirming the version of firmware by enabling a video interface to give notice of the version of firmware rewritten in an image forming apparatus which rewrites a flash ROM of an engine CPU by using an external line, a service tool, etc. <P>SOLUTION: A communication means communicates with the external line and service tool, and version information of the rewritten firmware is stored in a specified address of the rewritable flash ROM by the communication means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
