PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance reliability against abnormality in calculation of a torque or a steering angle in a plurality of processor units. SOLUTION: An apparatus for detecting a torque applied on a steering shaft 13 constituted of an input shaft 16 and an output shaft 17 connected coaxially with each other through a torsion part 19 comprises first sensors 1A and 1B for outputting signals according to a rotation angle of the input shaft 16, second sensors 2A and 2B for outputting signals according to rotation of the output shaft 17, and an arithmetic unit to which the output signals from the sensors 1A and 1B and the sensors 2A and 2B are transmitted. The arithmetic unit 10 is provided with a plurality of processor sections 21a and 21b for calculating a torque by a specified calculation method on the basis of the output signals from the sensors 1A and 1B and the sensors 2A and 2B. The processor sections 21a and 21b calculate the torques by using the calculation methods different with each other. A means for detecting abnormality in calculation by comparing the torques calculated by the processor sections 21A and 21B with each other is provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
