PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a aligning system for continually attaining accurate aligning without needing a large quantity of processing overhead. SOLUTION: An optical fiber end (11) is aligned with the input ends of light guides (13 and 21) of an optical device with single optical sensors (3 and 23). Output of the optical sensor is processed to be converted into a digital signal, which is processed in accordance with alignment algorism to generate feedback signals (4, 5, 6 and 16). The aligning systems (10 and 31) include the single optical sensor, a lens and a processing logic. The system also includes an electric processing circuit 4 in which the processing logics (4, 5 and 6) have low noise and whose amplified and filtered signal of a wide dynamic range is generated, an A/D converter (5) for converting the output into the digital signal, and a computer (6) for generating the feedback signal enabling the alignment by processing the digital signal in accordance with alignment algorism. The feedback signal (16) is transmitted to a motion control system (20) regulating spatial alignment of the optical fiber end in accordance with the feedback signal. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
