Opening roller for an open-end spinning machine

An open-end spinning aggregate has an opening cylinder with an array of serrated teeth manufactured first by cutting a helical groove, followed by transverse machining to cut teeth. Each end of the cylinder has a surrounding rim which is the same depth as the teeth. The teeth esp. translate into the rim at each end of the cylinder. The teeth are set at an angle of pref. no more than 30 degrees.
