PURPOSE: Provided are a slip-resistant tarpaulin which has at least one surfaces coated with structure capable of providing rather potent friction force, and which can obviate various safety accidents, and a method for producing the same. CONSTITUTION: The slip-resistant tarpaulin comprises a fabric layer formed by weaving a polyethylene; and a coating layer covering either or both side(s) of the fabric layer, wherein a plurality of twisted split yarns are arranged on the coating layer at regular intervals. The method comprises the steps of (i) providing a fabric layer formed by weaving a polyethylene; (ii) providing a twisted split yarn with two strands being twisted on the fabric layer so as to position at regular intervals; and (iii) applying a coating material on the fabric layer and passing a cold roll and a pressure roll on the fabric layer to extrusion coating the fabric layer with the coating material.
