PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for compensating electric power are provided to supply the constant electric power by compensating automatically the deviation of the input power. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for compensating electric power includes a power generation unit(201) and a control unit(204). The power generation unit(201) generates the predetermined electric power by using PWM pulses. The control unit(204) compares the generates electric power to the reference value and compensates the PWM pulse according to the compared result to generate the constant electric power. The apparatus for compensating electric power further includes a signal conversion portion(202) to convert the generated electric power by using a digital method. The control unit(204) includes a storage portion(204-1) for storing the reference power value, a comparison portion(204-2) for comparing the generated electric power to the reference power value, and the compensation portion(204-3) for compensating the PWM pulses on the basis of an error of the comparison portion(204-2).
