<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming material which enables an image forming layer, transferred to paper, to be easily solubilized by an acid and an alkali, and which is equipped with both/either a thermal transfer sheet which has the uniformly-coated surface-like image forming layer and in which the property of transfer of an image, formed in the image forming layer, to an image receiving sheet is improved and/or the image receiving sheet which has a uniformly- coated surface-like image receiving layer and in which the property of the uniform transfer of the image, formed in the image forming layer of the thermal transfer sheet, from the thermal transfer sheet is improved. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming material using laser light includes the image receiving sheet in which at least the image receiving layer is provided on a base, and the thermal transfer sheet in which at least a photothermal conversion layer and the image forming layer are provided on the base.
