PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a BPA-free environmental response type metal can outside pearl coating composition which has the design of pearl gloss and has excellent top coating gloss varnish adhesiveness and retort resistance. SOLUTION: This environmental response type metal can outside pearl coating composition is characterized by comprising (A) a polyester resin free from a bisphenol type compound-originated raw material, a binder resin component having (B) a curing agent, (C) a pearl pigment prepared by coating mica with titanium oxide and/or iron oxide and further with a silane coupling agent and/or zirconium hydroxide, and (D) isobutyl acrylate homopolymer having a number- average mol.wt. of 5,000 to 10,000, wherein the pearl pigment is contained in an amount of 10 to 30 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the binder resin component.
