<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container for analyzing molten pig iron, which is used for quickly estimating concentration of solute elements contained in the molten pig iron, grasping properties of the molten pig iron, and optimally controlling the melting treatment, the inoculation treatment and the amount of the solute elements, and to provide a method for deciding the properties of the molten pig iron with the use of it. <P>SOLUTION: The container 10 for analyzing the molten pig iron comprises a main body 11 of a heat resistant container into which the molten pig iron is charged, a thermocouple 12 installed in the main body 11, and an oxygen concentration sensor 13 which is installed in the main body 11 and provided with a solid electrolyte. The method for deciding the property of the molten pig iron with the use of the container 10 comprises measuring the temperature of the molten pig iron with a thermocouple 12, measuring an electromotive force generated by a pressure difference between an oxygen partial pressure equilibrating with the silicon concentration in the molten pig iron and a referential oxygen partial pressure, with the oxygen concentration sensor 13 provided with the solid electrolyte, and measuring the silicon concentration in the molten pig iron from the molten pig iron temperature and the electromotive force, wherein oxygen in an atmosphere is utilized for the referential oxygen partial pressure of the oxygen concentration sensor 13, and the referential oxygen partial pressure is corrected according to the molten pig iron temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
