<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bridging device preventing the destruction of expansion joints/edge constructions for joint gaps when the neighboring building members exceed the prescribed limiting displacement. <P>SOLUTION: The bridging device for joint gaps between building members 2 and 3, an expansion joint construction 4 in particular, permits a relative position change of the members in given first limits, safety means 12 and 15 permitting the relative position change within given second limits exceeding the first limits or lying below those of them are provided without a separation destroying the function of the bridging device occurring between the building members or the expansion joint construction 4 or the like, the safety means are separated after the excess of a defined limiting load and have two or more constituent elements firmly connected to each other in a movable state to make relative displacement in defined manner, one element is firmly placed on one of the building member, and the other element receives part or the whole expansion joint construction 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
