PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a confocal microscope which makes stereoscopic image observation in real time possible. SOLUTION: A Nipkow disk 1 formed by being spirally lined up with a plurality of pinholes 2, etc., is formed as a spring washer configurating a spiral shape for one rotating-component around the rotary shaft 5. While the Nipkow disk 1 is kept rotated, the disk is irradiated with a laser beam 10 from the top surface 1a side to create spot light source groups 14 meeting the pinholes 2 on the base surface 1b and the inside of the sample 7 is irradiated with the light of these spot light source groups 14 by an objective lens 6, by which the spot light source groups 11 are stereoscopically formed. The fluorescent light 12 from the fluorescent material excited by the respective condensing light spots is passed through the original pinholes 2 of the Nipkow disk 1 by the objective lens 6 and is emitted from the top surface 1a configurating the spiral slope and is formed by an image forming lens 8, by which the stereoscopic images are formed. The images are observed by an eyepiece. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
