PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption of an ultrasonic flowmeter. SOLUTION: Since the power of a receiver circuit 2 is increased or decreased adjusting it to a change in propagation time of an ultrasonic wave by a temperature change and the temperature characteristic of the receiver circuit 2, by a power control portion 26 which controls the power of the receiver circuit 2 according to a temperature value of a fluid to be measured detected by a temperature detecting portion 24, power can be saved. It is unnecessary to provide a means for finding a propagation time of the ultrasonic wave, and the circuit configuration of the flowmeter becomes simple. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
