PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stress luminous building material containing (a) a stress luminous material constituted by doping the luminous center consisting of one or more kinds of rare earth or transition metal emitting light in the case an electron excited by mechanical energy returns to a ground state in an inorganic mother body material or (b) the stress luminous material consisting of at least one kind of aluminate having non-stoichiometry composition and having a lattice defect emitting light in the case the electron excited by mechanical energy returns to the ground state at least on the surface. SOLUTION: When the stress luminous building material is used as flooring, tile, walling, block material, paving material or the like, human weight and objective weight or the like is imposed on the building material to emit light, and a crime prevention system, a safe system, a production system or the like can be built.
