PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure and a corrosion protection method by covering where a corrosion protective layer consisting essentially of petrolatum is formed on the surface of a structural member consisting of steel, and the surface thereof is stacked with a protective layer, and in which a protective cover forming the protective layer has impact resistance, excellent workability, high construction ability on the spot and the possibility of recycling, and is provided with durability over a long period. SOLUTION: The surface of a corrosion protective layer 11 essentially consisting of petrolatum is fitted with a protective cover consisting of a sheet material 23 made of a corrosion resistant aluminum alloy, and the protective cover and a structural member 1 consisting of steel are made into an electrically insulated state. When the structural member is columnar, the circumference of the structural member with the corrosion protective layer formed is surrounded with a plurality of sheet materials, and the protective cover is closely stuck to the corrosion protective layer 11 by performing clamping with a bolt 26.
