PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a partial wear on a refractory of a tap flume, by scattering wearing sites not only in the vicinity of a slag line of the sidewall, but also in the vicinity of the metal line. SOLUTION: In the steps of discharging molten pig iron and slag from a blast furnace to the tap flume, subsequently separating the slag 8 with the use of a skimmer 4 installed in the tap flume, discharging it from a slag raking part 10 to a slag flume, and discharging the molten pig iron from the tap rising part 9 to a molten pig iron flume, this wear-controlling method comprises scraping off the refractory which forms the bottom of the slag raking part to lower the bottom face of the slag raking part, and scraping off the refractory which forms the bottom of the tap rising part to lower the bottom face of the tap rising part, while adjusting a lowered amount H<SB>1</SB>(mm) of the bottom face of the slag raking part and a lowered amount H<SB>2</SB>(mm) of the bottom face of the tap rising part so as to satisfy the relation of H<SB>1</SB><H<SB>2</SB>.
