During the steel blowing the oxygen is mixed with at least 10%, by volume, of an inert diluent gas. This applied at least during the period following which the decarburation rate falls. Pref. the diluent inert gas is argon, carbon monoxide or dioxide, or a hydrocarbon fuel gas or their mixtures. |
