Mechanical resonator for chronometers, as in NL. 6803264, is characterised by the compensation mass being formed by a viscous liquid, which only fills a post of the cavity. Vacuum is pref. applied to the rest of the cavity. The viscous liquid is pref. a poly-dimethylsiloxane having a viscosity of 300-10000 cs. The use of the viscous liquid improves the operation and reliability of the resonator.
