MASK ASSEMBLY FOR COLOR CATHODE TUBE

PURPOSE: A mask assembly for color cathode ray tube is provided to obtain the desired distribution of tension by forming an etching groove by means of the half-etching of a strip. CONSTITUTION: A mask assembly for color cathode ray tube includes a tension mask(20) and a mask frame(22). The tension mask(20) is formed with an effective portion(28) for passing or shielding electron beams and an ineffective portion(30). The tension mask(20) is extended vertically. The mask frame(22) is used for enhancing the structural intensity of the tension mask(20). The effective portion(28) includes a plurality of slots(28a), a plurality of strips(28b), and a plurality of real bridges(28c). Each slot(28a) has a long diameter of the vertical direction. The strips(28b) are arranged between the slots(28a). The real bridges(28c) are used for connecting horizontally the strips(28b) to each other. A plurality of etching grooves(28e) are formed on one side of the strip(28b) opposite to an electron gun.
