<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device in which a scattering property is imparted to reflective display light even when a pixel size is reduced and further retardation of a liquid crystal layer is optimized in both transmissive display region and reflective display region, and an electronic equipment using the same. <P>SOLUTION: In a counter substrate 10 of a transflective liquid crystal device 100, a color filter 241 for transmissive display with a wide chromaticity range is formed on a transmissive display region 100c and a color filter 242 for reflective display with a narrow chromaticity range is formed on a reflective display region 100b. The color filter 242 for reflective display has fine light scattering particles 29 compounded therein in addition to various color materials so as to impart the light scattering property to the reflective display light. The color filter 242 for reflective display is formed to be thick though the chromaticity range is narrow. Layer thickness d of a liquid crystal layer 50 in the reflective display region 100b is considerably thinner than that of the transmissive display region 100c. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
