PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encryption processing device and method capable of faster accessing a memory by using dedicated hardware for performing encryption or decryption processing. SOLUTION: This encryption processing device is provided with a PBSRAM 3 composed of a pipeline burst SRAM; an encryption processing part 5 for allowing data inputted from a buffer memory part 7 to be subjected to encryption processing, etc.; the buffer memory part 7 for storing data inputted and outputted between the PBSRAM 3 and the encryption processing part 5; a control part 8 for making the buffer memory part 7 use a burst transfer mode to access the PBSRAM 3; a bitwidth setting part 81 for setting a bitwidth of data inputted and outputted between the buffer memory part 7 and the encryption processing part 5; a counter part 82 for measuring a data amount transferred to the encryption processing part 5 from the PBSRAM 3; and a data flag processing part 9 for attaching a flag showing whether to be the last data to data outputted from the buffer memory part 7 and detecting the flag from the data outputted from the encryption processing part 5.
