PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for monitoring the degree and therapeutic progress of infant atopic dermatitis and distinguishing appropriate medicines. SOLUTION: Corneocytes are collected from an infant to measure the sizes of the corneocytes. By using the measured sizes of the corneocytes as indices, the degree of atopic dermatitis is distinguished, therapeutic effects are monitored, and the appropriateness of used medicines is distinguished. An adhesive support such as an adhesive tape or a disk to which an adhesive is applied is used and pressed against a section such as a cheek of a face, a forehead, an inside part of an upper arm, or a thigh part and is exfoliated after a lapse of some time. The corneocytes collected by stripping are dyed and used for measurement. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
