PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional quality inspection method for achieving a high quality assurance of manufactured components. SOLUTION: The three-dimensional shape data for components measured by using a three-dimensional measuring apparatus are converted into a solid model, and functional values required in design such as stresses, stiffness value, and eigenvalues are inspected by a CAE analysis. First, a three-dimensional CAD is used to create the solid model of the manufactured components and the solid model is subjected to the CAE analysis. Then, the test lot products of components are manufactured from the solid model. The shape of the manufactured test lot products is three-dimensionally measured. From the measurement result, the second solid model is created, which is subjected to the CAE analysis. Then, by comparing and displaying the two CAE analysis results, not only the surface shape of the component but also the functional quality can be evaluated, thus achieving high quality assurance.
