The control unit includes a protection circuit for protecting it against ground interruption (GND1). At least one electronic load switches (T1, Tn, IC1, ICn) and load (L1, Ln) between negative pole of voltage supply (B) and the source (S) of the load switch. A control circuit (A) drives the gate of the load switch. Between the connection point of the load switch and the load, and the ground connection (M) of the control unit, a protection device is inserted which comprises at least one diode (D1). The load switch is an n-channel power MOSFET.
