An oyster bag (14) of the plastic mesh type is typically two ended and ovoid in cross-section along its length. As access to the oysters therein during their growth is required an open and dosable end cap arrangement is provided. The end cap arrangement has an aperture frame (10) for fitment to at least one end of the mesh oyster bag although typically an aperture frame is fitted to both ends of the oyster bag. Each end cap arrangement has an end cap means (12) pivotally attached to the aperture frame (10) to move between open and closed positions to respectively open and close access to the bag (14). The end cap arrangement is adapted for pivotal connection to a hook which is adapted to be hung from a line on which it can also pivot such that said oyster bag can be submerged in the sea or other environment suitable for the growth of oysters contained within said bag. <IMAGE>
