<p>This novel filter medium carries out dry separation of e.g. paint or dust particles entrained in an air stream. The air flows through air spaces in a fibrous material. The novel feature is the use of a brush-like fibre structure, in which the fibres are held in a brush-like body (2), as projecting bristles (3). These have a series of length components transverse to the flow, with passages in-between. They are sufficiently stiff to resist the gas flow, yet have flexibility and resilience allowing them to be cleaned and dusted off.</p> |
