PURPOSE: A control method of a brake for a four-wheel drive vehicle is provided to prevent wrong operation of an ABS(Anti-lock brake system) by detecting travel on the rough road or the uphill with using a sensor detecting the vehicle height and the phase difference between front height and rear height. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle state detecting unit detects variable wheel speed, front or rear height, and the state of a brake pedal switch(S100,S110) of the traveling four-wheel drive vehicle. The road condition of the traveling vehicle is detected according to wheel speed, front and rear height and the brake pedal switch state(S120), and the brake pedal switch state is detected in traveling the vehicle on the rough road or the uphill(S130). Velocity difference of four wheels is decided in detecting the braking state of the vehicle(S140). A brake control unit outputs a control signal to actuate an ABS for reducing braking distance(S150). A forbidden signal of ABS operation is output if velocity difference between four wheels does not exist in spite of operating the brake during traveling on the rough road or the uphill(S160).
