<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transflective liquid crystal device in which no fluctuation of a distance between substrates is generated even when a balance of liquid crystal layer thickness is optimized between a transmissive display region and a reflective display region with a layer thickness adjusting layer and electronic equipment using the same. <P>SOLUTION: In a counter substrate 10 of the transflective liquid crystal device 100, the color filter 241 for transmissive display, which is thin and has a wide chromaticity range, is formed on the transmissive display region 100c and the color filter 242 for reflective display, which is thick and has a narrow chromaticity range, is formed on the reflective display region 100b respectively on the lower layer side of a counter electrode 21. Also the distance between a TFT (thin film transistor) array substrate 10 and a counter substrate 20 is controlled with columnar protrusions 40 formed on the TFT array substrate 10.
