PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To economically produce an aliphatic polycarbonate by using a complex of this invention as a cocatalyst formed from an epoxide and carbon dioxide and recovering a ligand with little lord of removing ashes from a polymer product.

SOLUTION: The complex compound comprises a zinc-containing complex cation expressed by the formula (I): [LZn2+M]+(wherein L expresses an electrically neutral bidentate ligand; M expresses a polymerization-inducing ligand having monovalent negative charge) and a counter anion forming a pair with the zinc-containing complex cation.
