<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a four-wheel traveling vehicle for rough terrain mounted with a V-engine in a compact size, and to facilitate installation and maintenance of the engine. <P>SOLUTION: This four-wheel traveling vehicle for rough terrain is provided with a seat 10 for riding on horseback and mounted with the V-engine 21. The V-engine 21 is so constructed that the center line E of V-bank is tilted forward and an always meshing geared transmission is built in the rear part of a crankcase 24. A body frame 1 has an engine storing space part shaped substantially parallelogram, seen from the side of the vehicle body between front wheels 2 and rear wheels 5. The V-engine 21 is completely housed in the engine housing space part, and a carburetor 9 is disposed in the V-bank or on the V-bank.
