<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a caliper to effectively prevent the generation of 'brake squeal' by considering 'spring operation' of an elastic member. <P>SOLUTION: The caliper 1 is provided with a cylinder 11 having an inner hole; a piston 12 having one side inserted in the inner hole of the cylinder 11; and a brake member 13 mounted on the other side of the piston 12 and pressing a disc rotor 2 rotated together with wheels.
