<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out accurate traction control. <P>SOLUTION: A friction coefficientμon a road is calculated at slip generation of a driving wheel, and whenμis equal to or smaller than a set valueμ<SB>0</SB>, under a condition that a second throttle valve provided serially with respect to a throttle valve is fully opened, a requested fuel cut amount in response to a slip state is calculated, and the number of cylinders fuel cut corresponding to the calculated value is performed (S1 to S4→S6, S7).
